I describe myself as a cultural producer because it best captures both the breadth of my work and the impact I hope to create. With a background in sociocultural anthropology, I’m drawn to the spaces where disciplines and perspectives intersect. I believe some of the most meaningful ideas emerge when people from different worlds come together.
My journey began with Project 40 Collective, a community for young Asian creatives in Canada. Over four years, we created spaces where people could connect, share ideas, collaborate, and grow together. This experience holds a special place in my heart and continues to shape how I approach culture, community, and creative work today. It helped lay the foundation for choa, an online platform I later co-founded to bring together diverse voices from the Korean female diaspora.
Since then, I’ve worn many hats across digital marketing, from strategy and content development, audience growth, and analytics. What has remained constant is my interest in how stories find their audiences. At Native Earth Performing Arts, Canada’s oldest professional Indigenous theatre company, I helped refresh the organization’s brand to connect with younger audiences. I also played a pivotal role in the growth of Netflix K-Content (formerly The Swoon) across social channels, expanding its reach and fostering a global community of fans around Korean content.
Today, I work at Mediacorp, Singapore’s national media network, using data-driven insights and digital strategy to help content resonate with audiences across the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2020, I moved from Toronto to Singapore in search of new perspectives and experiences. What began as an adventure has since become a place I’m proud to call home.
